I write (personal essays, blog, shopping lists), I read (novels, memoirs, cereal boxes), I fix things (dimmer switches, leaky taps, dinner), and I make things (knitted things, jewellery things, beds). I love Bengal Spice Celestial Seasongs tea, fish tacos, and the colour green. I was a dog in a former life (and am proudly owned by two in this life) and completely dig crows (they are awesome -- really!). My friends -- my tribe members -- are my life and loves and I would do anything for them.
My motto? Nothing half way.
There is a vitality, a life force, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique, and if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium; and be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is, not how it compares with other expression. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you. keep the channel open.
May Sarton
One must believe that private dilemmas are, if deeply examined, universal, and so, if expressed, have a human value beyond the private, and one must also believe in the vehicle for expressing them, in the talent.
